Call for task-force to be established in the wake of Abbott Vascular job losses.

Abbott Vascular remain committed to Clonmel according to the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation.

Richard Bruton was responding to a Dail question from Deputy Seamus Healy in the wake of the announcement by the medical devices manufacturer last evening that they are seeking 200 voluntary redundancies from the Clonmel plant.

The company has a workforce of 1,400 in Clonmel.

Deputy Healy is seeking the establishment of a Jobs Task-force for Tipperary but has expressed disappointment that the Minister did not commit to this.
