Call for clean-up operation on the Suir

At the penultimate meeting of North Tipperary County Council in Nenagh, the Thurles based Labour rep called for cleaning work to be undertaken from Beakstown to Templemore this year

He highlighted ongoing flooding issues in a number of areas along the river.

The last major clean up of the Suir was in 1985

Councillor Kennedy says the Council should apply for funding from the OPW Flood Relief Scheme to address the problem.
