Gardai objected to bail due to what they described as the seriousness of the alleged offence stating the woman and her two children were stopped at lights when accused approached their vehicle and said he had a taser which he threatened to use if she didn't bring him to an ATM.

She then drove to Rathgar and took out 600 euro before the accused left the care and she drove off.

Judge Michael Farrell refused bail and remanded Francis Gavigan to appear in court again on Thursday.
