Planning permission for a new Primary Care Centre in South Tipperary has been granted.

Tipperary County Council approved the plans for Cahir this week, subject to 18 conditions.

Zest Healthcare – which is based in Kilmallock, County Limerick – is the company behind the plans for what will effectively be a one-stop-shop for much of the local community.

After a lengthy application process which began in 2017, permission has been granted for the provision of the centre over two floors at Rosemount Close, Barnora off the Cashel Road in the town.

It’s set to cover a 1,885 square metre floor area – consisting of a general medical practice clinic; consultation rooms, offices and treatment areas.

There’ll also be a public healthcare facility, procedure rooms, treatment rooms, and office & administration suites.

It includes a single storey pharmacy annexe, as well as 72 car parking spaces.

The development will also see the provision of a new entrance to the site from the existing public roadway on Rosemount Close.
