Businessman to be sentenced for stealing €4 million from Tipp farmer.

52 year old Breifne O'Brien – with an address at Monkstown Grove, Co Dublin – faces up to ten years in prison for 14 theft and deception charges dating from 2003 to 2008.

He went all the way to the Supreme Court to try and stop his trial on charges that he stole and deceived 5 individuals out of €13 million.

But the businessman entered guilty pleas on 14 sample charges dating from 2003 to 2008 at a hearing in June.

The allegations of deceptions involve five people including Carrick on Suir Dairy Farmer Louis Dowley – his wife had known the 52 year old in Trinity College.
