Changes to the Finance Act in October's budget made new tennant's responsible for rate arrears of previous occupants…a move which sparked much controversary throughout the county.
However, Local Government Minister Phil Hogan has now accepted an ammendment to the bill which means the renters will no longer be liable for arrears.

Fine Gael South Tipp County Councillor Michael Murphy says that the move will ease the pressure on businesses in the county.
