Business closure in Tipp town is a ‘major blow’

Caulfield's Super Valu on Bank Place just off the town centre say the store is closing due to what's been described as challenging trading conditions.

Nearly two dozen jobs will be lost as a result.

It's thought the arrival of discount stores like Aldi and Lidl to the town centre along with Dunnes and Tesco on the outskirts of the town have had a major impact.

Local community activist Martin Quinn says the closure of Caulfields will have a knock on effect on others.
