Tipp Town said to be crying out for new jobs

It’s claimed West Tipperary is losing out due to the lack of an enterprise park in the area.

A local County Councillor says at least two businesses have chosen Cahir over Tipp Town because of this.

Denis Leahy says West Tipperary – and Tipp Town in particular – are paying the price for not having an enterprise park to attract new ventures to the area.

Meanwhile a business park which had the potential to create hundreds of jobs in West Tipperary won’t be going ahead.

Proposals for a Sky Innovation Park on the outskirts of Tipp town had been described as a potential game changer for the town

The project was said to have had the capacity to create 700 jobs and generate 48 million in wages in West Tipperary in the space of five years.

However Councillor Denis Leahy says despite the best efforts of both Deputy Alan Kelly and Tipperary County Council it won’t come to pass.
