A local engineering company is planning to relocate to new purpose built premises in Tipperary Town.
Brodeen Fabrications Ltd fabricates and assembles stainless and carbon steel off-site process pipework and pump modular units for the food/pharma/data centre industrial sectors in Ireland and across continental Europe.
The company was established in 2015 and has assembly operations at two separate sites – one on St Michael’s Avenue and the other on the Limerick Road.
They now hope to relocate to a 2 hectare site at the Tipperary Business and Technology Park at Knockanrawley – its currently undeveloped but forms part of the overall 7 hectare serviced development lands zoned for general industrial use at Knockanrawley.
Brodeen Fabrications have lodged a planning application with Tipperary County Council for the construction of a light engineering facility, including workshop, canteen, locker room and offices.
Car parking facilities would accommodate the existing 52 employees with an intended maximum on site workforce of 70.
A further 100 contract site-based fitters are employed across a number of projects in Ireland and Europe.
A decision is due from the local authority by 30th July.
