Thurles traders are planning another protest at a planned council meeting that’s due to rubber stamp the proposed re-development of Liberty Square.
Councillors on the Municipal District had a workshop on Phase 2 of the Liberty Square Public Realm Scheme yesterday after delaying a final vote on the executive’s report on the project.
It has to be approved this week or the local authority will lose the funding allocated by Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
But local business people held a meeting last night to discuss a second trial of the proposed new traffic system in the town last week, and decided they would again protest at a meeting in the local council offices tomorrow afternoon in an effort to have the project abandoned.
