EV car sales continue to decline in Tipperary

New car sales in Tipperary in the first 11 months of 2024 are almost identical to last year.

Figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show less than 1% of a drop in registrations compared to 2023.

Up to the end of November 2,894 cars were allocated a T registration – just 29 less than at the same point last year.

The sale of diesel powered cars has risen by 16% and now account for more than 34% of sales while petrol models have fallen by nearly 7.5%.

Electric vehicle sales continue to plummet in Tipperary – down 43% or 164 units – compared to 2023.
