The owner of the Times Hotel in Tipperary Town has asked us to clarify they were not involved in proposals to house International Protection Applicants at Bank Place House.

Tipp FM previously reported that an approach had been made to Tipperary County Council regarding the use of Bank Place House.

Tipp FM has now been made aware that this proposal related to part of the hotel property that was sold earlier this year.

The new owner of that part of the property, contacted the local authority in July regarding the development of 15 bedrooms with dining, recreation areas and kitchenette saying they had been in contact with both the Department Integration and the International Protection Accommodation Service.

The Department has confirmed that no offer of accommodation is being considered for the property.

Tipp FM apologises to the Times Hotel for the lack of clarity on the ownership of Bank Place House.
