Davern’s clothes shop in Cashel are closing their doors in the coming days after 99 years in business.

However instead of windows displaying closing down deals the retailers are displaying positive affirmations

“Be yourself its easier”, “Trust feels good” “Kindness is sexy” and more light up the main street store.

Owner Raymond Davern explained why they displayed the signs.

“In our window we wanted to put up some signs that might cheer someone up who is having a bad day or make someone think about someone else. Being kinder to someone else or someone who’s self esteem might be low – just to give them a little lift.

“And if change even one persons day for the better that will be an achievement for us.”
