Management and unions at Bus Éireann will appear before the Labour Court this afternoon after negotiations broke down overnight.
Unions say they offered €18 million in payroll reductions, while management claim they had proposals on reaching financial viability rejected.
The dispute is heading for the court of last resort after talks broke up overnight without an agreement.

They added that unions rejected an offer by the company that they say would’ve achieved financial viability.
The unions say they believe the government has been interfering with the talks behind the scenes.
However this has been denied by Minister Paschal Donohoe.
If no deal can be reached or an agreement at the Labour Court isn’t satisfactory, examinership is a possibility.
Both parties will appear before the Labour Court at 3pm this afternoon.
