People in Tipperary are being warned to be on the lookout for a bogus caller targeting farmers in Tipperary.

The scam caller called to a number of premises in the North Tipp area yesterday claiming to be carrying out a survey on behalf of a National publicaton.

The man is described as being in his late 50’s or early 60’s.

He asked questions about banking services, who they were banking with, if they had loans and what their experience with their bank was.

He claimed to be from the Portumna area but when questioned about local issues, did not seem to be familiar with that part of the County.

The Irish Farmers Journal has come out this morning to say that they categorically are not carrying out a survey.
It’s Deputy Editor is Tipp native Caitriona Morrissey.
She says that farmers need to be wary of bogus callers particularly at this time of year
