Body found in search for Irish woman missing in Scotland

Police in Scotland investigating the disappearance of Irish woman Karen Buckley have recovered remains on a farm north of Glasgow.

They say they are believed to be those of the missing 24 year old.

A 21 year old man has been arrested.

In the early hours of this morning, Police Scotland issued a message on social media saying that human remains have been recovered on a farm in the north of Glasgow, on the outskirts of Milngavie.

While no formal identification has taken place, the remains are believed to be those of missing woman Karen Buckley.

The nurse from Mourneabbey near Mallow, was last seen on Sunday morning.

Karen’s family, most of whom have travelled to Glasgow, have now been informed of the devastating news.

Police had stepped up their investigations at  High Craigton farm, yesterday evening, in the hours after a 21 year old man was detained in the city.
