North Tipperary tourism providers are being urged to attend this week’s series of workshops on the Lough Derg Blueway.

The events are taking place in Ballina-Killaloe, Nenagh and Portumna today and tomorrow, and aim to show local busineses how they can maximise their return from the waterway’s potential.

The idea of the Lough Derg Blueway is to allow local people and visitors alike, who have little or no experience of the lake, take part in water sports in a safe and accessable environment.

Cathaoirleach of the Nenagh Municipal District FG’s Phyl Bugler says the workshops are well worth attending.
