Tipperary’s latest win in the National Tidy Towns competition is being seen as a victory for the local community in Birdhill.
Having won the tidiest village award on four previous occasions the local Tidy Towns group made it to the top spot this year by claiming the overall title.
They join Emly, Kilsheelan and Terryglass who have also won the national title in the past.
Denis Floyd is Chairman of the Birdhill Tidy Towns group.
Last year they finished just a point behind the overall winners Skerries.
Denis Floyd says they’ve worked hard every year to improve the village.
