Beef protests continue through the night.

Protests by farmers are continuing outside meat factories in Tipperary and across Ireland calling on processors to increase the rates they are paying for beef.

The 48 hour demonstrations began at 3 o'clock on Sunday afternoon and will continue until 3pm today.

Farmers have been maintaining a presence outside the ABP plants in Cahir and Nenagh along with 12 other locations around the country.

Last night, the Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney said he hopes Wednesday's beef forum will bring the tensions to a close.
