Post Christmas sales get underway this morning with many retailers promising record bargains.
The doors of some of the biggest chain stores across the country have already opened, with shoppers scrambling for the best deals.
Retailers saying that pre Christmas figures were down on last year.
David Fitzsimons, spokesperson with Retail Excellence Ireland says this will benefit shoppers.
“We're predicting the sales period commencing St. Stephens' Day will probably have the largest level of discount ever presented to consumers. We haven't had a great Christmas, retailers are carrying excessive stock into the sales period so we are likely to see upwards of 70 and 80 per cent off”.
