The suggestion was made at this weeks meeting of North Tipp County Council, by Thurles Councillor John Kennedy, who said that Obama should be invited to visit the home of hurling.

There is speculation that the President may schedule some time to visit the South again, following the announcement earlier this week, that next years G8 summit will be held in County Fermanagh.

This also prompted calls from Fine Gael Councillor Pauline Coonan, that President Obama should give temporary legal status to the undocumented Irish, to enable them to come home to the Gathering 2013.
