A new documentary has revealed that an attempt was made to attack the US President Ronald Reagan, during his historic visit to Ireland.

Today marks the 28th anniversary of President Reagan's trip to his ancestral home of Ballyporeen in Co. Tipperary.
Large crowds lined the streets of the village to welcome the US President that day – but it's emerged in a new Tipp FM documentary that one spectator tried to attack him with what's believed to have been broken glass.
