Several suppliers are said to be considering changing processers from the Nenagh based co-op to Dairygold or Glanbia.

With the abolition of milk quotas due to come into force this year, farmers can move more freely between creameries.

The CEO of Arrabawn, Conor Ryan says this has been going on for a number of months with other processors courting their suppliers.

He says it’s important that the co-op keep their suppliers and with the arrival of natural gas to the plant, they can commit to paying a price that is on par with the rest of the processors in the country.
