Archbishop of Cashel and Emly to lead Famine Walk in Ballingarry

The Archbishop of Cashel and Emly Dr Kieran O’Reilly will lead Famine 1848 Walk in Ballingarry this afternoon.

The walk – which gets underway at 3 o’clock – commemorates those who suffered during the Great Famine.

It starts from the Young Ireland monument in the village and will take around 45 minutes.

Later this year the states National Famine Commemoration will take place at the Famine Warhouse in Ballingarry on September 30th.
