Appeal for water safety following RNLI rescues

It follows two incidents yesterday where the RNLI lifeboat had to be called into action after vessels ran aground.

The first was at Gortmore Point south of Portumna on Sunday morning while a motorboat was refloated in Youghal Bay in the afternoon.

Speaking on Tipp Today this morning Lough Derg Lifeboat PRO and crew member Eleanor Hooker said it's vital that vessels on the lake stay within the navigation marks.
