Dozens of animal rights activists are protesting in Clonmel this afternoon over the national coursing championships at Powerstown Park.
They say sport is cruel to the hares involved who they claim suffer serious injuries despite the greyhounds being muzzled.

This is strongly denied by Irish Coursing officials who claim that coursing has actually sustained and conserved the Irish hare population
