According to a statement issued on behalf of Grant Thornton the business advice firm may issue proceedings “as a result of matters arising since the closure of the hotel” earlier this month.
Grant Thornton is pointing out that it did not have any arrangement with Auburn Hotels Aherlow Limited (AHA) other than leasing the property to the company.
Therefore, it says, there is no legal basis for the company that decided it could no longer operate the hotel attempting to impose obligations on the Receiver or the company in receivership.
Grant Thornton say it has contacted all those who booked with AHA to advise them of the sale of the hotel and claims they were delighted at the speedy resolution of the situation brought about by the abrupt closure of the hotel.
The Receiver also says it has been contacted by local politicians expressing their gratitude for his hard work and that of his team in resolving the issue.
Auburn Hotels previously told Tipp FM News they are very disappointed at what they say is “the lack of clarity and ill founded statements issued to the media and covered in social media”.
They claim this has led to the gross misleading of the public, the result of which has affected staff members, and management.
As a consequence AHA plan on taking legal action against the Receiver.
