12 hours of talks took place yesterday in a bid to resolve the dispute between producers and processors over the price being paid for livestock.

Developments were made on market transparency and the introduction of a price index, according to the Irish Farmer’s Association.

Further talks are expected on Thursday or next Monday.

North Tipperary County Councillor Joe Hannigan says a profitable farming sector is good for Tipperary.
