The North's Secretary of State has welcomed comments by Gerry Adams that he supports the police service of Northern Ireland.
He was released from custody last night after 4 days of questioning by police investigating the IRA murder of Jean McConville.

Speaking at a press conference last night, Gerry Adams questioned the timing of his arrest – but insisted police in Northern Ireland retain his support.
The Tánaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore is calling on all parties to refrain from further comment or speculation.
