Adams welcomes European Council President’s comments on Brexit

The Sinn Fein president has welcomed a suggestion by the President of the European Council.

He says the future of the island of Ireland has to be agreed before Britain can have any talks on a European trade deal.

Donald Tusk says the issues of “people, money and Ireland” need to be settled before any talks on the UK’s future role with the EU.

It’s being taken as a sign that tomorrow’s EU summit WILL result in a deal to let Northern Ireland rejoin the EU straight away in a United Ireland.

Gerry Adams has welcomed the suggestion.
