5,000 Tipperary students starting Leaving and Junior Cycle exams

Over 5,000 local students are starting the state exams in Tipperary today.

2,176 are expected to sit English Paper 1 in the Leaving Certificate this morning across the Premier county.

A further 178 are doing the Leaving Cert Applied.

There’s also 2,730 local teenagers sitting the Junior Cycle exams.

The State Examinations Commission says there are record numbers signed up this year – an increase of 3% on 2024 to over 140,000 for the first time.

The leaving exams finish on Tuesday 24th June.
