Over 500 patients on trollies today

There are over 500 patients without a bed at hospitals across the country today.

Once again hospitals serving Tipperary are suffering from significant overcrowding.

South Tipp General in Clonmel has 34 people without a bed – 18 of these are on trolleys around the Emergency Department with 16 in overflow areas of wards.

University Hospital Limerick – which serves North Tipp – has 28 patients waiting for a bed today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded with 47 people in need of a bed.
