Over 50 patients on trolleys in Tipperary and Limerick today

Over 50 patients are without a bed at the two main hospitals serving Tipperary this lunchtime.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show there are 32 people being treated on trolleys or chairs at University Hospital Limerick.

At South Tipp General in Clonmel 20 patients who have been admitted to the hospital are waiting for a bed.

Cork University Hospital is the most overcrowded in the country today with 41 left without a bed – nationally the figure stands at 542.
