A number of people remain in Garda custody following a major anti-crime operation in County Carlow.
45 people were arrested in yesterday's operation targeting criminal activity including burglary, fraud and sexual offences.
120 Gardaí were involved in Operation Thor which included 20 searches and road checkpoints.
14 people were charged with various offences, and a number have appeared before the courts.
Gardaí also made four significant drug seizures and seized four vehicles.
It comes as the Justice Minister says there will be no let up in the crackdown on criminal gangs engaged in burglary.
Garda figures show a 34 per cent drop in the number of burglaries in the past year, coinciding with the launch of Operation Thor.
There's been more than 30,000 patrols, 2,500 arrests and nearly 16,000 searches carried out by Gardaí – since the operation launched in November last year.
Tánaiste and Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald says she's determined to protect communities that have been the victims of crime and that the Garda crackdown will continue.
