Nearly 14,000 homes, farms and businesses in Tipperary have had their water restored today (Tuesday) but some of those are still experiencing low pressure or intermittent supply.
Uisce Eireann says that 4,200 are still without water at this stage mostly on the Galtee Regional Scheme, Ardfinnan and in some parts of Killenaule.
Water tankers have been made available at Emly GAA Pitch, Lattin GAA Pitch, Monard at the Church at Solahead Road, Mount Bruise National School, Dove Hill Shopping Centre, Ardfinnan Village and Killenaule National School.
Uisce Éireann’s Water Operations Lead, Colin Cunningham says it’s hoped that everyone will have their taps running by tomorrow.
We are down to about 500 local homes and businesses without power in Tipperary this evening.
They’re in a few small pockets around Bansha, Aherlow, Milestone and Kilennaule – which is a fresh fault but the 200 hundred homes there are expected to have the lights back on this evening.
About 6,500 homes nationally are without electricity.
A Status Orange low temperature and ice warning has been issued for Tipperary and twenty one other counties tonight.
It’s due to come into effect at 8pm until 10 on Wednesday mornng and temperatures could drop to minus 8 in some areas.
Another similar warning then comes into effect at 6pm tomorrow, until 11am on Thursday.
Local Authority crews have working to clear footpaths in town centres across Tipperary as well as continuing the roads treatment programme but the advice is still not to travel unless necessary with an orange warning for ice and low temperatures issued for tonight and tomorrow night again.
Motorists are being reminded to carry out winter checks on their car and plan their journeys if they have to go out.
Many schools across the county will remain closed again tomorrow (Wednesday) due to the warnings.
