350 patients on trolleys today

350 people are on trolleys at hospitals across the country.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation – St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny is the most overcrowded with 36 people in need of a bed.

University Hospital Limerick – which caters for North Tipp, Limerick and Clare – has 30 on trolleys and overflow areas of wards.

At South Tipp General there are 19 patients without a bed today.
