26 Tipp firms receive Microfinance funds

Microfinance Ireland has provided loans totalling €290,000 to 26 companies in the Premier County in 2016.

The loans – which range between €2,000 and €25,000 – provide an alternative source of funding to commercial lenders.

Approximately two-thirds of the Tipperary loans last year went to start-ups. 

The remainder went to existing small businesses that were keen to expand.

One of those was Josephine O'Hagan who runs Jomiluti in Fethard – says Microfinance Ireland were very easy to deal with.
