Nenagh General Hospital is set for a 2.2 million euro upgrade of its facilities.

Funding has been approved for the construction of a 16 bed medical wing at the Tyone health facility.
It comes on top of the multi million euro new theatre suites which are set to be completed in May.
Announcing the funding North Tipperary Minister Alan Kelly says there will also be a complete revamp of Medical Ward 1, while a new clinical room will be developed as well as an upgrade of the old three bed room in Medical ward 2.
