Council staff in North and South Tipperary have been taking an average of more than 11 days sick leave every year.
According to a report in today's Irish Independent, the average number of sick days taken by council staff is still over 2 weeks a year, despite a crackdown on absenteeism on the public sector.

The average council worker in North Tipperary takes 11.5 days sick leave every year, with South Tipperary slightly behind on 11 days a year.
However these figures are slightly below the national average of 12 days a year.
