More than 11 hundred premises near Newport in Tipperary have been connected to the National Broadband Plan.

NBI says the rural surrounds of Birdhill and Greenhall may also be able to avail of the high speed internet.

The company says around 31 thousand customers in County Tipperary are included in the State’s Intervention Area, and more than 26 thousand of those have been connected to its network.
