Tipperary people urged to help decide future of our waterways

A public meeting is taking place in Tipp town this evening on the issues facing all bodies of water in the country.

The River Basin Management Plan will take in everything from water quality, biodiversity, heritage, recreation and tourism.

Also up for discussion is how local communities can get money from the government to develop river walks and recreational activities alongside the river to help promote tourism while improving water quality in the countys waterways.

Community Water Officer Ruairí O’Conchuir explains why they’re having these meetings …

Tonight’s meeting is at the Excel Centre at half-7 with another in the Park in Clonmel tomorrow.
