As part of Irish Music Month this March, Tipp FM have launched our Tipperary Local Hero Talent search

If you’re a solo artist, or in a band we want to hear from you

Whether it’s rock, pop, trad, country, or rap this could be the breakthrough you’ve been waiting for!

How it works

Tipp FM will choose four finalists to performance on air

Each finalist will receive a once off payment from the project. This will be €875 for each finalist (€650 for band / €225 for crew).

The Tipp FM Local Hero winner could then qualify for the national final and win a prize worth €10,000! That’s €5,000 in prize money, €5,000 in musical equipment, and have your single released by Rubyworks!

Terms and conditions

It must be a song which was performed live or ‘as live’ on Tipp FM. It cannot be a recorded single / previous release professionally recorded in a studio

Only one piece of audio per artist can be sent for judging.

Each one of the Band/Artists must perform live on Tipp FM – at least one song must be an original and performed as ‘live’.

Finalists will be interviewed on Tipp FM’s Drivetime Show

Our winner will be decided by a panel of judges AND listener’s public vote.

Selection Criteria

• Artists can be from any genre of music
• Artists can be well established or emerging on music scene
• No limit on age, genre, or gender of artists
• Artists must be available to perform on Tipp FM and if successful, be available to perform at a National Event
• No limit on number of members of band / number of artists in bands
