Works underway on €15 million upgrade of Fethard plant

Work commenced this week on a major upgrade of the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Fethard.

A €15 million investment by Uisce Éireann will take in the region of two years to complete.

Spokesperson Paul Fallon says it will be of huge benefit to Fethard.

“The project will significantly modernise and improve the performance and efficiency of the wastewater treatment plant in the town and will provide capacity for future growth and development.

“When complete the newly upgraded wastewater treatment plant will ensure improved water quality in the Clashawley river and will protect the local environment.

“The project will also enable growth and development in the town as well as ensuring compliance with national and European waste water regulations.”
