Wheelchair access to be focus for Tipp County Council

Access for wheelchair users is to be a major focus for Tipperary County Council in any works carried out in the future.

The issue was raised at this months meeting of the local authority by Councillor Pat English.

He asked that the council ensure that access to public buildings and new buildings be looked at.

Councillor English also highlighted the need to consider issues such as sloped or narrow footpaths, steps, kerb heights and the time allowed at traffic lights for crossing the street are looked at from a wheelchair users perspective.
