A County Council planned walkway in West Tipp is causing a divide in the local community.

The proposed walking path between the Soloheadbeg Memorial and Limerick Junction by the local authority has been met with more than 200 objections over safety concerns from residents on the route.

In a statement to Tipp FM, Solohead GAA welcomed “the benefits of this proposed walking pathway” but said they were mindful of the concerns of local residents affected.

However, PRO of the Limerick Junction Residents Association, Padraig Culbert says the group is disappointed that the local GAA club showed its support for the project without talking to the residents.
