Dorothy Wall says Ireland’s win over New Zealand overnight is something they have dreamed of.
The Fethard native, alongside Tipp Town’s Amee-Leigh Murphy Crowe both started for Ireland as they beat the Black Ferns in their WXV1 clash in Canada.
Scott Bemand’s side ran out 29-27 winners over the reigning world champions thanks to a late try from Erin King which was converted by Dannah O’Brien.
Speaking after the game, Dorothy Wall says they’ve come a long way in the last two years:
“I don’t think it has really sunk in yet, it was 1 to 27 or however many players we had there, non-playing reserves, the subs everyone had an impact on today.
“We had absolute belief in what we were going to do.
“It’s just mad, it’s crazy where we have come in two years.
“To beat the Black Ferns in the WXV1 is something that we dreamed of.”
