The number of patients on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick today is significantly lower than usual.
While there are still 56 people without a bed at the facility which serves North Tipp, Limerick and Clare its nearly half the numbers from this day last week when the INMO reported 103 patients on trolleys.
Management at the UL hospital Group – which includes Nenagh General – suspended all non-urgent services and outpatient appointments in an effort to tackle the overcrowding issue last week which seems to be having an impact..
Meanwhile 18 patients who have been admitted to TUH in Clonmel are without a bed while there are no overcrowding issues in Nenagh according to the nursing union which is reporting a total of 421 people on trolleys across the country.
