Two men remain in custody at Cahir Garda Station today as an investigation aimed at combating the importation of explosives, firearms and ammunition into the state continues.
The two, aged 33 and 50, were arrested at a house on Abbey Street in Cahir last evening, by Gardaí from the Special Detective Unit.

They’re currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act, and can be held for up to 72 hours.
The operation was led by members of the Special Detective Unit assisted by the Emergency Response Unit and Gardaí from the South Eastern Region.
The investigation is ongoing.
