A former three-time mayor of Clonmel will be laid to rest today.
Ted Boyle passed away last Friday.
He was an ex-Member of Clonmel Corporation and South Tipperary County Council and served as Mayor of Clonmel on three occasions.
His funeral will take place at St. Peter & Pauls Church, Irishtown at one o’clock followed by burial in Grange Cemetery.
As a mark of respect the current Mayor will host a special meeting of Clonmel Borough District Council in his honour this morning.
Cllr Michael Murphy outlines the extent of Ted contribution to the town.
“Very sad news reached me on Friday of the passing of former Mayor Ted Boyle – the great Ted Boyle – a member of the Corporation between 1980 and 2004. A distinguished career at the local level and also a member of South Tipperary County Council between 1991 and 1999. Uniquely Mayor on three occasions – 1983, 1986 and 1996.”
