Slevin took a 6-3 victory, averaging over 92 to beat ‘The Nuke’.
It’s the second time in a week that the 22-year-old has beaten a world champion following his win over 2021 champion Gerwyn Price last week.
However, there was disappointment for the Tipp man in the second round when he was beaten 6-5 by England’s Martin Lukeman.
Slevin was waiting on 36 to win the match when Lukeman took out 134 to win the match with a 12-darter.
